Steven Myron Holl Foundation Campus Tours

In partnership with Archtober 2025, SMHF will offer campus tours of the 'T' Space Reserve on October 4th and 5th, 2025, 10:30-12:00pm.

Tours will include the Architectural Archive and Research Library, containing over 1,200 architectural models; the Archive Gallery with the exhibition New Hudson Valley Houses on view; and the Ex of IN House, a 900-sf experimental residence. 

The Archive houses a collection of over 1,200 models, 20,000 watercolors, a library of 4,500 books, and other materials documenting the 50-year practice of Steven Holl Architects. The materials collected at the Archive provide numerous case studies of architecture and urban planning that are anchored by a direct connection to the site and their local ecologies. The exhibition New Hudson Valley Houses features ten recently designed homes by Stan Allen, Garrick Ambrose, Toshiko Mori, MOS, and Steven Holl Architects, within three hours of New York City. Presented solely through models and drawings (no photos) that invite viewers into the design process. The Ex of IN House is a 900-sf experimental residence exploring a language of space, aimed at inner spatial energy strongly bound to the ecology of the place – questioning current clichés of architectural language and commercial practice. The campus is a model of environmental sustainability. Tours will be ~90 minutes split between the Archive and Ex of IN House.
