Miralles is a visually striking journey into the life and work of Catalan architect Enric Miralles, whose brilliant mind was taken from the world too soon when he passed away just before his 50th birthday. The film revisits the legacy of a visionary who was only beginning to show the full scope of his genius.
In Spain, Enric Miralles’ name carries the weight of an architectural legend, but he remains lesser known in other parts of the world. The film looks back on 11 of his most significant projects, from the emotionally resonant Igualada Cemetery, where he is now buried, to the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, a masterpiece he never saw completed. With lyrical narration by acclaimed Spanish author Sara Mesa, Miralles moves like memory itself—fluid, non-linear, full of color and longing. The film drifts through space and time, searching for the architect in the traces he left behind. (ADFF)
