The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of The Great World’s Fair of 1964-1965. What was the World’s Fair? How did Staten Island participate and who was there? We will look at the borough’s involvement with the Fair as well as the borough’s involvement with the World’s Fair that took place in 1939-1940. One thing is for sure we know that Carlton Beil, a former owner of the Olmsted-Beil House, created a natural history exhibit at the earlier Fair. Let’s also talk about the World’s Fair of 1893 too. You will never guess who designed the grounds for this Chicago based extravaganza… Come and share your experiences at the 1964-65 World’s Fair. Bring artifacts to show.
