In honor of Alice Austen's birthday on St. Patrick’s Day, this March walk will take place in Moravian Cemetery where Alice is buried.

The walk will meander through Staten Island’s oldest cemetery with a stop to visit the Austen family plot. Led by AAH educator Kristen Bartley, attendees will also discuss and challenge the commonly held beliefs in photo circles that photographing in cemeteries is cliché or a “no no” and look at contemporary artists making interesting work within them.

Attendees will meet at Moravian Cemetery’s main entrance at 2205 Richmond Rd and depart for the walk at 11am.

The Photowalk Series is free, donations are welcome to keep this program running and accessible to all.
