Queens native photographer Elias Williams celebrates the history and everyday people of his hometown St. Albans, Queens. This historically rich and underrepresented community continues to exemplify the best of middle-class life in America and has the distinction of housing legendary Black musicians and athletes. It’s culture has survived racist housing policies enacted to keep African Americans out and the 2008 housing crisis. His work is featured in the October 2021 issue of National Geographic.
