Join us at the Archtober x Data Vandals newsstand takeover for an afternoon of fun in the subway during Open House New York weekend.

Data Vandals is an NYC-based art duo comprised of artist Jen Ray and data visualization designer Jason Forrest, who turn public data into community conversations. Since April of this year, their former newsstand-turned-data art gallery has hosted rotating exhibitions, sticker surveys, live events, music, and a free newspaper. The interior opens a few times a week, but the exterior murals are around the clock, read by roughly 52,000 riders a day.

Open House New York promotes broad, unparalleled access to the city—to the places, people, projects, systems, and ideas that define New York and its future. Through year-round programming, including the annual Open House New York Weekend festival, OHNY is a citywide platform for education, exploration, and engagement about the connections between quality of place and quality of life for all New Yorkers.

Archtober is New York City’s month-long festival, celebrating architecture and design throughout the city and beyond. Through collaboration with the festivals partners, Archtober provides exhibitions, talks, tours, and special events that are free and accessible to all.
