The Mandala Lab, on the 3rd floor of the Rubin Museum of Art, is a 2,700 square foot interactive space for social and emotional learning inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist mandala. The immersive space promotes learning through five thought-provoking, playful experiences. Videos, scents, sculpture, and curated percussion instruments guide visitors along an inner journey focused on the self-awareness of others. The project was completed in collaboration with cognitive scientists, Buddhist teachers, and a diverse group of contemporary multidisciplinary artists.
