This year’s Harvest Festival continues Weeksville Heritage Center’s commitment to Black land and farmers, food justice, and collective well-being through an afternoon of free outdoor activities on our grounds. Experience modified tours of our Historic Hunterfly Road Houses (with COVID-19 protocols in place), arts and crafts projects, food demonstrations, healing workshops, a live DJ and more! Food vendors as well as our farmers market (presented in partnership with Oko Farms) will also be onsite.

The day will feature several inspiring dance performances including a multimedia presentation of "The Arrival," presented by Something Positive (1pm & 3pm) and “Respiration,” created by the Renegade Performance Group (4pm).

  • THE ARRIVAL is a mythical choreo-poem that illuminates the impact, importance, and significance of Water to the continued existence of life on Earth. (click here for more info)
  • RESPIRATION is a site-specific work created in response to the life-altering global pandemic of a virus that can literally take one's breath away. This performance is part of "Together, We are New York," a project produced by the Association for a Better New York.

Please note that the dance performances above require a separate reservation.

Be sure to also take the time to meet Weeksville Heritage Center’s new Tour Educators, Sierra Hamilton and Regina Robbins, and become a part of our community! Bring the whole family and friends to this yearly celebration of the harvest, the land, the past and the future.
